How to address Behavior and Discipline Problems
Which of my child’s behavior issues are due to his/her disability and which ones are due to a lack of discipline? 

How do I separate discipline issues from developmental ones?

While these questions are delicate ones, they are asked by most parents and teachers of children with special needs on a daily basis. Deciphering disability related behavior from discipline related behavior is the key to understanding how to implement and consistently teach new skills.  This workshop is designed to arm parents and teachers with the skills needed to develop and implement important principles of individualized teaching and positive behavior management strategies. It will help caretakers of children with special needs reduce inappropriate behaviors and increase their child’s understanding of expectations of them within both home and community environments.   Some specific areas of focus for this workshop will include: 



Come and learn new, unique, and innovative ways to shape behavior in a manner that is clear, workable, and more enjoyable for parents, teachers, and their children. Some of the techniques include structured training that will encourage increased attention span which applies to real life situations such as facilitating being able to take your child to a restaurant, movies, church, shopping, and other social atmospheres that currently present challenges for children with special needs.
