Brenda Batts, Thank You! What seemed like a "Mission Impossible" is now a reality. My son with autism is potty trained! I attended your workshop at the Texas State Autism Conference and implemented the program upon returning home to San Antonio.
Using the thorough method you outlined in your book and at the conference, I gathered up all the items necessary and in three days my son responded to both pee and poo poo in the potty. What an accomplishment!
My son is also dressing himself every morning using the peg board and pictues of socks, underwear, pants and shirt. This took one day to get the hang of!....he loves the structure and routine it provides.
I attended all four days at the conference and sat in on two of your workshops and I must say that you gave the most practical and USEFUL advice. I got more applicable information from you than all other presenters combined. The countless examples and props you provided are great!
Alex has trained you well! You have inspired me to continue my coursework in Behavior Analysis and hopefully one day I will be a able to help parents and educators understand and accomodate a child with autism's needs.
Thank You for sharing! I hope to see you in San Antonio soon! I spoke with the Region 20 Education Service Center about your presentation and would love for you to offer a workshop or two here!
Sincerely, Kim Reince
